Africa: “Welcome” in 2,000 LanguagesWhether you’re building wells in Ghana or working to preserve zebras and buffaloes in South Africa, volunteering in Africa is a rare opportunity to experience something completely different. The world’s second largest continent is home to more than 680 million people, the world’s longest river (the Nile) and the enormous Sahara Desert. There are an estimated 2,000 languages spoken across Africa, and at least as many fantastic travel opportunities. Watch gallons of water gush over Victoria Falls, commune with rhinos in a game preserve, or get caught up in the rhythms of Ghana’s dance and drumming culture. Step off the plane and you'll notice smiles in Africa just aren’t the same as smiles at home. As a volunteer you’ll be welcomed with the grandest of grins: so warm, friendly and welcoming – and just the first of the many memories you’ll take with you at the end of your stay.
